Streetcar access one block away

I took the free streetcar just one block from the hotel to reach Union Station. My King suite featured a full kitchenette where I prepared meals during my stay. The building shared space with the Courtyard, and I navigated between them using the posted elevator signs. Valet staff were prompt, having my car waiting at the front door each morning before I even called down for it.

Full kitchen with spices

I prepared dinner in the full kitchen, which stocked spices and condiments for my meals. The townhome held two living rooms where I spent my evenings during the six nights. I slept in a bed with plenty of linens and blankets available in the house.

Pellet ice machines on every floor

I appreciated having a water and ice machine with pellet ice on my floor throughout my stay. I rode a complimentary bike along the paved Berkley Riverfront Trail that sits right in the front yard of the hotel. My room featured a Nespresso machine , made for a high-quality cup of coffee each morning. I also enjoyed a delicious meal at the onsite Show Pony restaurant.

Underground parking at the Plaza

I parked my car in the underground garage upon arrival before walking to the nearby shops. During my stay, I ate egg white frittatas from the breakfast buffet and swam in the indoor pool. Everything I needed for my trip was within walking distance of my room.

I swam in the indoor and outdoor pool until ten each night after eating dinner at the evening kickback. My room included a microwave and a fridge, so I heated leftovers while watching the news.

Coffee machines available 24/7

I used the fresh brewed to order coffee machines in the lobby at all hours during my three-night stay. I grabbed a cup of coffee while I waited for the free shuttle service to the airport. I also enjoyed the hot and cold items at breakfast, which started at 6:30 am in the morning.

Railroad artwork inside the lobby

I appreciated the 1930s railroad-inspired décor, including the themed elevator doors that featured historic travel elements. My room felt quiet while I looked out at the city view from my window, and I grabbed a coffee from the lobby bar before walking to the nearby streetcar. After exploring, I ate dinner at Dott Boss, the on-site restaurant located on the street corner.

Live jazz at Chaz Restaurant

I listened to smooth jazz while dining at Chaz Restaurant inside the hotel. My room windows overlooked the Country Club Plaza, which I enjoyed after I walked to the shopping district. I kept complimentary bottled water in my suite, and I slept well in the quiet building.

Live jazz at the club

I made reservations for Loni's Jazz Club in the basement of the building, the highlight of my weekend visit. I spent my mornings working out in the hotel gym after eating steak and eggs for breakfast in the restaurant. My Parlour suite included a comfortable king bed and a coffee pot with Italian coffee. I relied on the valet service, quick with my car.

Water taps by the ice

I filled my water bottle at the taps located right next to the ice machines in the hallway. These were tucked away on the same floor as my room, made staying hydrated during my two nights very simple. I walked to the Country Club Plaza for dinner each evening, since the shops and restaurants sat within walking distance of the lobby.

Direct access to the convention center

I walked directly from my room to the convention center through the indoor walkway. After my events, I relaxed with a drink at the Horsefeather Social Club on the seventh level. My room on the twenty-second floor featured a city view and blackout curtains which kept the space dark for sleeping.

Rooftop terrace access from our queen room

We stayed in a second-floor corner queen room which opened directly onto the rooftop terrace. I grabbed espresso and madeleines from the lobby area each morning after checking in through the contactless keypad. Our suite was like a loft, with a walk-in shower and local chocolates placed in the room upon our arrival. We spent our afternoons relaxing in the common room downstairs before walking to nearby downtown.

Espresso on the back patio

I sipped espresso from the self-serve coffee bar on the back patio each morning before walking to the Nelson-Atkins Museum. My suite featured a private terrace overlooking a green zen garden where I read books from the sunroom.
